I loved this, Meighan! I use Otter to get transcripts but basically never go back to actually use the transcripts. There is some block there that it sounds like Cleft could help by shaping into actionable formats- cool! Got it set up right away!
I’m so glad! And YES!!! I was thinking specifically of Otter! A few years ago I’d use it on my phone and NEVER once went back to the transcript lol. I hope you love Cleft!
This was an interesting read. I'm generally a bit more skeptical about AI and, as regards, Cleft Notes, I'm most concerned about massive amounts of data/recording of my voice being potentially available for nefarious purposes.
I'm not a politician.
I'm not a celebrity.
I do have family, friends, clients, neighbors, people who count on me, people who love me, people who TRUST me, and I would hate to have them receive a phone call in "my voice" asking for money or other assistance, or information only to have it not actually be me.
I think this is a very real and valid concern. For me AI has helped me enormously.
After getting long Covid my capacity and cognitive abilities were impacted in a huge way. Most of the tools I’m going to chat about in this series helped me feel creative again. They helped me work in a way that buoy my limited energy.
I see the positive side of these tools as far outweighing the negatives. I also trust that there are far smarter people than me working on the downsides of AI.
Lastly, I also firmly believe that as digital citizens it’s imperative for us to be diligent when it comes to being on the up and up with scams and activities perpetrated by bad actors. With every new technology there are people looking to exploit it.
I appreciate your willingness to share your skepticism. I think it’s important to have these discussions. Even if I don’t have all the answers, I like being pushed to think.

Thanks Meighan,
